2007 Report

The G.S. played at 5 different courses last year – Hemsted Forest at Cranbrook, Cobtree Manor at Maidstone, The Weald of Kent at Headcorn, Boughton near Canterbury and Tenterden.
We had 22 players at Hemsted, 21 players at Cobtree, 19 players at The Weald of Kent, 18 at Boughton and 18 at Tenterden so we are averaging nearly 20 players per event.

We also organised an overnight trip to Selsdon Park near Croydon which was extremely good value having evening meal, bed, breakfast and 2 rounds of golf for £99. We had 8 golfers and 2 wives on the trip. We hope to do a similar trip this year. The more the merrier.

This year we have booked the following venues:

  • The Weald of Kent on 30th April
  • Tenterden for 4th June
  • Faversham on 14th July
  • Tudor Park Maidstone on 12th August
  • Hemsted Forest on 17th September

Notices with further details are on notice boards in the Club with further details.

We do not take it too seriously; the object of the day is to have fun. The average cost is about £36 which includes coffee and bacon roll on arrival, 18 holes of golf and a one course meal afterwards and the cost of the magnificent trophy prizes. The balance goes back to HC&SC, this year resulting in donation/contribution of £104 to Club funds.

If there any other golfers in the Club who want to play, especially ladies, we only have 2 or 3, please contact me.
